In the case of large polyclinics, often referred to as 'chains', there is frequently the problem that individual patient concerns may not always receive adequate attention. While the goal is to provide quality care at optimized costs, patients can sometimes feel neglected. There can also be shortcomings in the communication between the patient and the treating physician. This is often a natural consequence of large systems, which can lead to both patients wanting to switch doctors and physicians deciding to return to smaller clinics where they have more freedom for an individual approach.
How can this be improved? What are others' opinions on chains vs. single-physician polyclinics?
