The team spirit is fantastic, everyone is willing to help each other out. The training provided is excellent, especially the mandatory training which is always up to date with current guidelines. The location is great, easy to get to by public transport.
Sometimes there are shortages of equipment, which can be frustrating. The canteen food could be better.
I've been really impressed with the level of support provided for mental health and wellbeing, both for staff and patients. The Trust has implemented some excellent initiatives to address burnout. The consultants are very approachable and keen to teach.
The pay could be better, especially considering the cost of living in Birmingham. Parking can be a nightmare.
The Trust offers fantastic opportunities for professional development, particularly in specialist areas like cardiology. The team is incredibly supportive, and there's a real sense of camaraderie, which makes the busy shifts much more manageable. I've also appreciated the focus on patient safety and quality of care.
The electronic patient record system can be a bit clunky at times, and could definitely use an upgrade. Finding parking near the hospital can also be a bit of a nightmare, especially during peak hours.
