Bloods&Beyond Job Type: Freelance / self -employed Job Description: We are seeking skilled and compassionate Phlebotomists to join our existing Phlebotomy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in their homes for laboratory testing, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires a thorough understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques. This role is ideal for an experienced phlebotomist (minimum 6 months’ experience / 200 blood withdrawals) seeking flexible work that fits around their lifestyle. Duties * Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages, including paediatrics if qualified. * Ensure proper identification and labelling of samples to maintain accuracy in testing. * Maintain an aseptic technique while performing blood draws to prevent infections. * Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and transport them according to established protocols. * Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns or questions. * Keep accurate records of procedures performed and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Requirements * Proven experience in phlebotomy for at least 6 -12 months. * Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. * Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in blood collection. * Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). * Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards patients. * Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. * Enhanced DBS * References: 2 referees, at least one from your recent employment * Driving License: Full driving license and access to own vehicle * Language: Fluent English (required) * Informed Consent * First Aid / BLS (passed within 2 years) * Infection Control (passed within 2 years) * Health & Safety (passed within 2 years) * Safeguarding (passed within 2 years) * GDPR within (passed within 2 years) * Hep B vaccine What Bloods & Beyond Offers * Flexible working.
